Based on Pinterest users’ searches, couples are looking for simple attire, natural beauty, small guest lists, and natural settings. “Simple wedding gowns” has increased 205 percent year over year, while “natural glam bridal makeup” has increased 710 percent, regarding brides’ looks. In terms of the type of function, more and more engaged duos are considering civil ceremonies (a 210 percent increase) and courthouse weddings (a 150 percent increase), while others are interested in outdoor locales, with terms, such as “whimsical garden wedding” and “small backyard wedding reception” increasing 450 percent and 300 percent respectively.

Vintage Aesthetics

At the end of 2023, Pinterest forecasted that retro weddings, particularly 1960s- and 1970s-inspired nuptials, would skyrocket in 2024. For their big day, brides are embracing fashion from previous decades. For example, “vintage inspired wedding dresses” climbed 240 percent over the past year and “vintage wedding rings antique” has grown 430 percent since 2023.
