The first time I had delicious chocolate fondue was a glorious moment. All that chocolatey goodness – I definitely had a sugar high that day.

I was at a popular fondue restaurant years before I started this website. Even then, I was trying to figure out ways to have good fondue at home.

I obviously love my crock pot.

The great thing about crockpot chocolate fondue is you don’t need one of those 3-tiered fondue fountains you see at weddings or a fondue pot.

This is one of the easiest desserts you can make.Youcanuse an electric fondue pot if you have it, but if you don’t, a small crockpot and some wooden skewers are all you need.

My slow cooker chocolate fondue recipe uses only 3 ingredients. You can easily buy them ahead of time and keep the ingredients in your pantry.

One of the ingredients is a jar ofseedless raspberry jam. Not a fan? Substitute with your favorite jam flavor!

I usually place ramekins full of my favorite fruit next to the crock pot and prepare for fondue night.

This recipe is definitely chocolate fondue for a crowd. If you have leftovers, transfer them to an airtight container (like amason jar!) and store them in the fridge for 3-4 days.

What Should I Dip into Chocolate Fondue

Many foods can be dipped into dessert fondue. Some examples of my favorite dippers are:

What Tools Do I Need for Chocolate Fondue

I usually uselong wooden skewersto dip into the chocolate – they are cheap, and I always have them in a drawer.

If you plan to do this often, consider investing infondue forks.

You can make one small change to this recipe, and it creates many recipes.

Switch out the chocolate chips!

You can use milk chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or mint chocolate chips. Trying out all of the different flavors is a really good idea.

If you use bittersweet chocolate, add a can of evaporated milk, heavy cream, or coconut milk to ensure it is sweet enough.

Ingredients

  • 12-ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12-ounce jar of caramel topping
  • 12-ounce jar of seedless raspberry jam or preserves

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a 2 ½ quart slow cooker. Cook on low heat, stirring frequently to combine the ingredients.
  2. Once all ingredients are well mixed and hot, approximately 1 ½ hours, turn the slow cooker to the warm setting and serve.

Notes

Caramel topping is found in the ice cream section of the grocery store.
