Mack Weldon's Tech Merino Scarf is an example of that with its merino wool blend that wicks away sweat. The black and dark blue colors make for easy mixing and matching, and the scarf is antimicrobial for the finishing touch.
3. The Bag
Bellroy
Bellroy Tokyo Work Bag
- Why we like it: Has a professional look and minimalistic design, easy to carry, has an attachable strap

- Some other options: Satchel & Page Aviator Brief Waxed Canvas Bag, $375, Lululemon Clean Lines Belt Bag 2L, $58, Lenovo Legion 17” Armored Backpack, $99.99
You need at least one type of bag to carry with you whether it's for work, school, traveling, or even just attending a casual event. This bag can come in the form of a backpack, crossbody/sling bag, or even a gym/duffle bag if you want to keep it athletic. Our favorite is the Tokyo Work Bag from Bellroy because it transitions well between casual and professional, has enough space for a 16" laptop, and different compartments for some of your other essentials. Whether you plan on taking it to work or using it for your travels, the Tokyo Work Bag is one that comes in handy.

No you cannot stuff all of your cards and cash into your pockets. You need a wallet. If not for anything else a wallet is a necessity for organization, but while you're at you might as well make it fashionable right? A favorite of ours is the Leatherology Bifold Wallet with Flap which is made with all-leather, offers multiple compartments/space, and is super soft. It'll take a lot of effort on your end to lose something with this one, and the minimalistic design and neutral colors make it so that the wallet can go with everything. The fabric is lined, and there's also a card flap a with thumb-slide ID window for convenience.
5. The Watch
Michael Kors
Michael Kors Oversized Slim Runway Black-Tone Watch

- What to consider: On the pricier side
- Some other options: Original Grain Buffalo Trace, $595, Movado Face, $395, Versace Men's Hellenyium Chrono Two-Tone Bracelet Watch, $1,295
We've already gone over just how much a watch can take your outfit to the next level but in case you needed a reminder, adding to watch to your blazers, suits, jackets, button-up shirts, etc., can really be the "missing link" to your outfit. A lot of times when an outfit is missing something but you can't quite put your finger on what, adding a watch can be what solves the problem. Not to mention, watches are always sophisticated and sexy. Always. We like this Oversized Slim Runway Black Tone Watch from Michael Kors because of its sleek all-black glossy finish and the ability to engrave what you want on there. From our experience Michael Kors watches also last a very long time, making them quite durable for the long run.
6. The Necklace

JAXXON Cuban Link Chain

Even the most basic sweaters and shirts can be brought to life with the right necklace, and that's why we consider them to be one of the most important accessories out there. If you are looking for something simple, consider JAXXON's Cuban Link Chain which is made with sterling silver and a 14k gold coating, is affordable, comfortable on the skin, and comes in four different lengths. The quality is great, and again the price is very affordable considering some sterling silver necklaces can run up into the thousands.

- Some other options: Hermes Goliath Bracelet, $390, David Yurman Chevron Triple Wrap Bracelet, $395, Men's Solid Link Chain Bracelet Stainless Steel 8.5, $89.95
If you aren't really a watch person but are looking for an accessory that has a similar effect, a bracelet is the way to go. Most bracelets are minimalistic and versatile in the sense that they will never be the main attraction of your fit, but will only serve to enhance (which is the point). The Orson Pull Bungee Rope Bracelet from Miansai is a good example of this as the design is simplistic, but still catches attention without taking away from what you're wearing. Factor in the affordability and quality, and this is an excellent bracelet for an excellent price.
8. The Ring
Serge DeNimes
Serge DeNimes Silver Patriot Ring
- Why we like it: Great quality, versatile, comes in multiple sizes, affordable
- What to consider: Only comes in one color
- Some other options: Elysium Ares 8MM Ring, $699, JEWLR Brushed Tungsten Ring with Beveled Edges, $99, Jared Wedding Band Black Zirconium 8.0mm, $99.99
Ain't nothing like a little bling in the form of a ring. Rings have a way of making your hand and your outfit look good. A lot of rings out there have a hint of artistic expression to them, and that's part of the reason why many people love them. In addition to that, they look super cool and have a way of making a statement. The Silver Patriot Ring is an example of that with its 'Carpe Diem" engraving and symbols. The ring is also made with sterling silver, has a slim band, and gives you multiple sizing options to find the right fit. There's plenty of great selections for rings out there, you just have to give them a shot.
9. The Keychain
Lululemon
Lululemon Sillicone Keychain
- Why we like it: Is convenient, affordable, comes in more than one color
- What to consider: On the smaller side
- Some other options: Bellroy Key Cover Plus, $55, Shinola Birdy Key Fob, $95, Apple AirTag Leather Key Ring, $31.99
Considering most hook their keychains onto their belt loops, if you're going to be displaying something on your pants/trousers/shorts, then you might as well make it stylish right? In fact, keychains are sort of becoming a fashion trend on their own, so you're right on time with buying one. Lululemon has an option that is both affordable and stylish with their Silicone Keychain which is described as being "easy to find, easy to hold, and oh so easy to love." The clip is secure and sturdy, meaning that you won't have to worry about it falling off as you're out and about. Just don't lose it and you'll be all good.

Neiman Marcus
Peter Millar Off-Set Crown Performance Baseball Hat

- What to consider: Only comes in one size
- Some other options: Huckberry Beanie, $30, Banana Republic Men's Felt Fedora, $44.97 - $48, Arc'teryx Wool Ball Cap, $35
We don't know of a single soul out there that doesn't love hats. Not one. With so many different types to choose from (ball caps, beanies, fedoras, wide brim, boater, etc.) it's almost impossible to not find one that matches your style and personality. This Off-Set Crown Performance Baseball Hat from Peter Millar is an example of a hat that hones in on the basics, but is still very much stylish. Made with polyester and spandex the hat can be worn during the spring, summer, and fall, (and perhaps winter depending on the temp), is very comfortable, can be adjusted to your liking, and is affordable. A winner in our book.
11. The Socks
Bombas
Bombas Men's Marl Calf Sock 4-Pack
- Why we like it: High quality, comfortable, comes in a 4-pack
- What to consider: May not work with certain outfits
- Some other options: BombaLow-Cut No Show Socks, $13, Mack Weldon 2-Pack Everyday No Show Sock, $18, Bonobos Supersoft Dress Socks, $15
Socks are kind of a funny accessory because sometimes showing them is what makes an outfit, and other times showing them is what can break an outfit. What we're trying to say is sometimes socks need to be seen and sometimes they don't. Case in point, if you are wearing a pair of Jordan 1s, then you should probably wear low cut socks because calf length polka dot socks are going to throw your outfit off. If, however, you are wearing a formal suit, a nice pair of dress socks can add to the suit's formality and make the look more elegant. Bombas is the place where you can find any and every sock, and this wool 4-pack is one of our favorites due to the comfort of the wool and the range of colors.
12. The Gloves
The North Face
The North Face Etip Recycled Gloves
- Why we like it: Keeps you warm, made with sustainable material, has four-way stretch, comes in multiple sizes and colors
- What to consider: Could run tight around the wrist
- Some other options: Carhartt Stretch Fleece Liner Glove, $24.99, Under Armour Men's Storm Liner, $13.93, REI Diamond Lightweight Screentap Gloves, $34.95
Would you rather have to keep your hands permanently glued into your pockets this winter in the cold/freezing weather, or would you rather invest in a nice (and stylish) pair of gloves that are going to keep you warm and add to your outfit? The latter sounds like the better alternative doesn't it? Make no mistake, these new gloves are not the bulky ugly gloves our grandparents where wearing back in their day, they are slim, sleek, fresh, and fashionable—which is exactly why you need to invest in a pair. The Etip Recycled Gloves from The North Face check all of the boxes we just mentioned, and they are specifically made for warmth. Do yourself a favor and grab a nice pair of gloves for the winter. You won't regret it.
13. The Fragrance
Dior
Dior Sauvage
- Why we like it: Smells amazing, great pricing, has a nicely design bottle
- What to consider: May not be the right scent for you
- Some other options: Versace Eros, $96 - $130, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, $26.95, Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male, $90.10
We know what you're thinking—is cologne an accessory? Yes it is—it's the accessory that you can't see. Why? Well because not smelling good is the quickest way to ruin any outfit. Nuff said. Our favorite automatic go-to fragrance for men is Dior Sauvage thanks to its citrus note mixture of ambroxan, resinous elemi and woods. Plus for it to be a designer fragrance, the pricing is incredibly affordable with the 1oz bottle being priced at $68 and the 60z going for $175. A 60z bottle can last you for about a year-and-a-half (no joke), which means it's a quality investment in the sense that you won't have to buy a new one for a while.
14. The Dress Shoe
Allen Edmonds
Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue Cap-toe Oxford Dress Shoe
- Why we like it: Has a sleek polished look, is comfortable, has half sizes and different widths available, multiple colors
- What to consider: On the pricier side

Every one needs at least one pair of dress shoes for formal occasions as well—even if you only bust them out once a year. A solid pair of black dress shoes will get the job done, and the Fifth Avenue Cap-toe Oxford Dress Shoe from Allen Edmonds is one of the best pairs to make the investment in. Aside from black there's multiple colors available, plenty of sizes including halves, ten different width options, and the comfort is top tier. Even better, the shoes are handcrafted with European calfskin leather uppers and leather lining meaning you're getting the finest quality. There's also plenty of great dress shoes that are noteworthy and worth your hard-earned dollars.
15. The Casual Shoe
L.L. Bean
L.L. Bean Men's Stonington Shoes
- Why we like it: Has a rugged look, good for casual wear and work, has multiple sizes including halves
- What to consider: Only one color
- Some other options: Oliver Cabell Low 1 Military, $180, Thursday Boot. Co, $199, OOFOS OOahh Slide Sandal, $59.95
Casual shoes are a necessity for your capsule wardrobes as well, and a good neutral shoe is one that can work with just about any outfit for any occasion. L.L. Bean Men's Stonington Shoes caught our attention as one of our favorites this season because they're kind of a mixture between a sneaker and a chukka boot. You get the casual appearance of sneaker while still have the semi-formal look a chukka provides. The Stonington Shoes can be paired with a range of jeans/chinos/slacks, transition well between the office and outside of the office, and are made with a durable leather that makes the shoe last a long time. L.L. Bean gives you numerous sizes (halves included) and two different widths to select from.
16. The Sneakers
Nike
Nike Air Force 1 '07
- Why we like it: Is a classic sneaker, has multiple sizes, is comfortable, affordable
- What to consider: Could run slightly big
- Some other options: Allbirds Men's Tree Dasher 2, $135, adidas Ultraboost 1.0, $150, New Balance 574, $89.99
These are for the guys who aren't sneakerheads (because the ones that are have no shortage of sneakers). If you aren't heavily into kicks, again you need to have at least one neutral pair to rock with. Our first recommendation is always Air Force 1s because they have a slightly chunky/platform look that makes them easy to pair with a lot. We've personally worn Forces with dress pants, khakis/chinos, jeans, joggers, and even shorts. Believe us when we say they can be dressed up or down and have the ability to go with everything. If you are only going to invest in one pair of sneakers, make them an Air Force 1.
17. Huckberry Made in USA 365 Belt
Huckberry
The Belt
- Why we like it: High quality, multiple colors and sizes
- What to consider: On the pricier side
- Some other options: GRIP6 Gunmetal Belt, $35, Bonobos Clubhouse Stretch Belt, $79, Mack Weldon Covert Belt, $48
If some of the pants you own aren't a perfect fit, chances are you are going to need a belt. Belts are subtle accessory in the sense that unless the belt you're wearing is very flashy, people aren't going to be starring your belt. What belts actually do is enhance your pants and make them to appear more tailored and flattering. A great belt that accomplishes this mission is the Made in USA 365 Belt from Huckberry which gives you five different sizes and four assortment of colors. The belt is designed to work with jeans, chinos, and slacks, and is made with 100% full-grain leather to keep it looking fresh over the years.

Montblanc
Montblanc Tie Bar Extreme 3.0

- Some other options: Jos. A. Bank Stripe Formal Tie Bar, $39.50, Trafalgar Men's Two-Tone Tie Bar, $75, Brooks Brothers Sterling Silver Engravable Gold-Plated Tie Clip, $148
While a tie bar isn't always needed, it can be helpful with clipping your tie to your dress shirt should you be in a situation where it's super windy or you need your tie to be held back. It's always good to have one tie bar ready to go in case of an emergency, and that one tie bar should be high quality and elegant enough to not throw off your outfit. We like the Montblanc Tie Bar Extreme 3.0 due to its formal look, neutral colors, and versatile nature which is everything needed in a good tie bar.
19. The Cufflink
Charles Tyrwhitt
Charles Tyrwhitt Mother of Pearl and Onyx Evening Cufflinks
- Why we like it: Has a secure design, is made with good material, is easy to put on
- What to consider: Could wear faster than others
- Some other options: SUITSUPPLY Gold Round Cufflinks, $119, Perry Ellis Crew Cufflinks, $14.98, MERIT OCEAN Cufflinks Steampunk, $36.99
Cufflinks were originally made to keep the cuffs of your dress shirt secure around the wrists, but they've become so much more than that. Cufflinks now represent a refined style and attention to detail that shows you aren't like the rest of them. And that's why you should consider owning one. The Mother of Pearl and Onyx Evening Cufflinks from Charles Tyrwhitt are a good start as they are made with sterling silver, have a strong material, and are easy to clean. Remember, any cufflink is an automatic elevation in your suit/dress shirt, so any investment you choose to make in them is a wise one.
20. The Pocket Square
Bonobos
Bonobos Premium Pocket Square

And if you really want to take your suit/blazer game to the next level, a pocket square is the route to go. As long as the square doesn't clash against the tie you're pretty much good to go as the pocket square will serve to complement your suit jacket/blazer with the little bit of it you can see. Bonobos' Premium Pocket Square is a good place to start as the designs are creative with the pocket square being made with %100 silk. The pricing is also very affordable, so you won't be breaking the bank too much (which always a bonus).
FAQs about men's accessories:
Here are some commonly asked questions about accessories.
What are the most important accessories for men to have?
The most important accessories a man can have are watches, necklaces, bracelets, rings, sunglasses, wallets, dress shoes, and casual shoes/sneakers. It's also important for guys to have some sort of bag that they can carry with them in their day-to-day life whether that is a crossbody/messenger bag, a briefcase, or backpack.
Where can I store my accessories?
For your jewelry items, most choose to get a small organizer that's separate from their main drawers/closets. This will allow you to keep your necklaces/chains and bracelets separate from your other pieces of jewelry as they can tangle badly when stored with other items. Some people also have a sunglasses organizer as well. If you choose not to get a sunglasses organizer, then you can go the route of having a specific area on your dresser where you keep them. If need be, you can also get a shoe and bag organizer to keep those items as well (or store them in designated areas in your closet).
Do accessories make an outfit better?
Accessories can absolutely make an outfit better. They can turn a boring outfit into an interesting one, or provide the final piece that takes your look to the next level. Accessories can also help you with looking more refined and sophisticated.
